nibble is going to hybernate for a while.  we might wake up now and again to read email or check in on facebook…we might even tweet, but for the most part we’re going to be in slumberland until the calendar reads 2010.

hope everyone gets some rest, some love, and at least one materialistic item of their desire.

I’m sorry I haven’t written to you sooner about “Falling Up,” but my reading has fallen way behind, as I have been struggling to keep up with life’s blistering pace. I want to thank you for sending it my way. I really enjoyed it. I thought that with the narrative element of the book, you did a wonderful job of withholding enough information to make me wonder what’s going on, and yet you filled in enough blanks for me to keep wanting more. The poetry element of the book was beautifully written. The poetry made mundane, everyday movements enticing. Your ability to seamlessly intertwine these two elements created a wonderful moment for me to escape to. Thank you for that.

- It’s tight. concise. it’s NOT poetry. it’s a lyrical tale with poetic language, but a decidedly short story feel. I suppose it doesn’t really matter what the style is called as long as it’s called good (which it is).

- I loved it.

- I was very touched by the book. I loved the structure – one poem as an entire chapter highlighted the ability of poetry to act as a “condensation of language.” Cool.

- What a nice surprise.

- Thanks for ‘falling up’…chapter breaks very effective…the necessary ’sigh’…the foreshadowing, ‘turn-to-come’…kind of ‘a clean well-lighted place’…
